BALTIMORE, MD—For nearly three decades, regional BDPA technology and innovation summits, advance planning briefings for interns (APBi), advance program briefings for industry (APBI), and regional coding competitions, have provided “insider training”, intimate workshops, and fireside chats for BDPA members and students. These quarterly community engagements provide BDPA Chapters, HBCUs, Community Colleges, and small business mission partners unique opportunities to network, build teams, and source technically qualified talent to rapidly adapt to new challenges and policies enacting change across information communications technology (ICT) industries.

National and regional technology conferences and career expos powered by BDPA (BDPACONs) are attended annually by a wide range of people from product manufacturers, software developers, business consultants, and Federal/State/Local/Education (Fed/SLED) officials. Invited thought leaders who attend BDPACON events offer invaluable market insights to BDPA Mission Partners, BDPA Members, and BDPA Student Members.

BDPACON attendees discover how to add more value as interns, employees (W2), principal investigators (PI), contractors (1099), or small business suppliers while delivering greater solutions and solving challenges across rapidly emerging ICT marketplaces.

BDPACON East 2023 (East ’23) was the perfect opportunity for members, stakeholders, and small businesses to connect with like-minded individuals and learn from industry experts. Powered by National BDPA’s Northeast Region, East ’23 was hosted by Fearless Solutions, LLC (Fearless).

Fearless grew to over 200 team members, becoming one of the largest software developer and largest black-owned businesses in the immediate region. Fearless designs, engineers, and delivers digital solutions to solve problems, transform organizations, and promote efficiency for its customers. Fearless launched Hutch, an innovative program, as an intensive 24‑month program that provides underrepresented entrepreneurs with a blueprint for building successful and impactful government digital services firms. The program equips small businesses with the tools, mentorship, and peer-to-peer support they need to thrive in the world of government contracting.

East ’23 was filled with insightful discussions, engaging activities, and networking opportunities. A variety of sessions and fireside chats covered topics such as industrial control systems, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence (Ai). This year’s speakers are leaders in their fields and remain excited to share their knowledge with tomorrow’s workforce.

New members may join and support local BDPA Chapters for the Association’s ultimate regional or international experiences with the community’s brightest minds and demonstrative past performances in digital workforce transformation.
