ROSWELL, Georgia (bdpatoday®)—On Friday, August 15, 2025, National BDPA’s Professional and Student Members attending BDPACON25 were treated to a very special Golden Anniversary reception, book signings, and computer museum tour co-hosted by Media Sponsor bdpatoday® at the Mimms Museum of Technology and Art, formerly known as the “Computer Museum of America.

The museum asserts that computing history is important enough to warrant its very own preservation and scholarly attention. Their core conviction is that the history of computing contains many revelations about human innovation and creative problem solving within our communities. They especially embrace making technology careers accessible to everyone, including underserved populations.

BDPACON25 attendees explored and experienced a punch-card machine (top/cover photo), an electric typewriter, first-generation gaming consoles and personal computers, and large computers with tape machines from Cray, Digital Equipment Coproration (DEC), HP, IBM, Silicon Graphics (SGI), and Sun Microsystems (Oracle.)

Past National BDPA Presidents also provided a fireside chat inside the museum’s Gravity Ballroom moderated by the association’s current national president, Perry Carter.
