LARGO, MARYLAND, March 15, 2025 / bdpatoday®/ —  Norman P. Fleming, MBA, PMP®, the Chief Information Technology Officer for Chicago Public Schools (CPS), is set to deliver the keynote address at the National BDPA’s Golden Anniversary Awards Gala. This annual prestigious event is planned for the evening of Saturday, August 16th, 2025, at the WESTIN Peachtree Plaza in Atlanta, GA, to commemorate the Association’s 50th Anniversary and its five remarkable decades of student and professional advancements with Industry in digital transformation.

Norman P. Fleming

As the Chief Information Officer (CIO) of Chicago Public Schools (CPS), Mr. Fleming provides executive leadership, vision, and strategic value by enabling digital technologies for CPS students and staff. He also oversees support services for the District’s educational and city-wide operations.

Before joining CPS, Mr. Fleming was the Vice President of Global Business Transformation at McCormick & Co., Senior Director of Enterprise Project & Portfolio Management at Aon Service Corporation, Senior Director of IT Enterprise Business Solutions at

Molson Coors-MillerCoors USA, Senior Director of IT Client Relationship Management at Astellas Pharma, Program Integration & Management Lead at Deloitte Consulting, Global IT Manager at Merck & Co., Business Systems Manager at Kraft Heinz Foods Company, and Director of Client Services Systems at The New York Times Company. He also held various technology and business leadership positions at the Chicago Tribune Company.

Mr. Fleming believes in community service and is a lifetime member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., the National Black MBA Association (NBMBAA), and Black Data Processing Associates (BDPA). He also served as the former Chairman of the 100 Black Men of Chicago’s Digital Technology Committee, former Membership Chairman of the IT Senior Management Forum (ITSMF), Brother-2-Brother executive speaker at the Thurgood Marshall College Fund Leadership Institute, a volunteer chef of Real Men Cook, and an instructor for Junior Achievement of Chicago.

Outside of work, he enjoys mentoring at-risk youth, watching major league sports, Chicago-style cuisine, and Caribbean travel. He is also a passionate grill master and appreciates spending quality time with family and friends.
